The COSAFA Executive Committee has confirmed Zimbabwe as hosts of the 2019 COSAFA Cup pending a government guarantee.
COSAFA’s official website said this follows a visit made by the regional body’s Secretary General Sue Destombes to the county this week.
The Southern African football body now awaits necessary government guarantees that are required for Zimbabwe to be confirmed as the tournament hosts.
Madagascar have already sealed a first ever visit to the finals, while South Africa, Zimbabwe, Angola, Namibia, Mozambique and Lesotho are all in with a strong chance of joining them when the qualifiers are completed in March.
