Thousands of commuters have been left stranded as taxi operators protest in Gqeberha.
Over 500 taxi owners and drivers have been burning tyres and causing destruction since Tuesday.
They claim to be owed COVID-19 TERS funding.
The drivers say they have suffered a major financial blow under the pandemic.
They are accusing their local taxi association of holding onto the money.
