Golden Arrows 2 - 2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs dropped more points in the DStv Premiership after playing to an entertaining 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon.

Michael Gumede had a chance to score in the third minute but his shot went over the bar after Sibusiso Conco had set the ball up for him. And in the 14th minute, Philani Zulu’s header was saved by Mlungwana in the Abafana Bes’thende goal.

In the 36th minute, Leonardo Castro’s header brushed off the crossbar and out of play, with Mlungwana beaten as Arrows survived.

Two minutes before half-time, Ramahlwe Mphahlele’s shot was saved from close range when he could have put it either side of the goalkeeper.

And then right on the stroke of half-time, Castro was played through on goal by Lebogang Manyama, but he fired straight at Mlungwana, who made another good save as Chiefs missed another gilt-edged opportunity in the space of a matter of minutes just before the interval.

Two minutes after the break, Nyiko Mobbie did well down the left-hand side before delivering the ball into the box for Gumede to chest down into the path of Zolani Nkombelo, who got to the ball just ahead of Katsande, who fouled the Arrows wing-back and gave away the penalty. Conco stepped up and calmly sent Itumeleng Khune the wrong way to dispatch the ball into the back of the net.

The Colombian striker doubled his side’s lead in the 66th minute. Once again, it was that man Manyama with an excellent slide-rule pass to release Billiat, who squared the ball into Castro’s path to tap into an empty net as the keeper came out to narrow the angle.

However, Arrows once again scored against the run of play to level matters after Knox Mutizwa backheeled the ball into the path of Nduduzo Sibiya, who curled the ball brilliantly on his left around the goalkeeper to seal a point for the hosts.
