Zondo Commission advocate, Pule Seleka, has been appointed to lead a team to investigate the City of Johannesburg’s Group Forensics and Investigating Services (GFIS) Department.
The metro’s Council Speaker Margaret Arnolds made this announcement during a media briefing in Braamfontein on Sunday.
The metro established this team after members of its internal investigating unit were suspended last year.
A report found that there were some irregularities with some of the investigations conducted by GFIS.
Seleka was part of the Zondo Commission that was established in 2018 to look into allegations of state capture in the country.
