Joburg mayor Geoff Makhubo has died

Joburg mayor Geoff Makhubo has passed away from COVID-19 complications.

Makhubo was admitted to the hospital on 3 July.

He tested positive for COVID-19 in late June.

Makhubo was elected mayor in 2019.
