Gauteng Health seeks donations in fight against COVID-19

The Gauteng Health Department is asking for donations of personal protective equipment and ventilators. Gauteng has 693 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

“The Gauteng Department of Health calls for donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ventilators. The fight against COVIOD-19 requires a joint effort by all sectors of society. This includes the increasing of the resource capacity of the Gauteng health system across the board with regards to its COVID-19 response,” the department said.

Gauteng Health MEC, Bandile Masuku said the province aims to get stock that will last 6 months. Gauteng province has three COVID-19 designated hospitals, Charlotte Maxeke Academic, Steve Biko Academic and Tembisa Tertiary.
