Flags to fly at half-mast to honour FW de Klerk

The South African national flag will fly at half-mast from Wednesday until Sunday in honour of apartheid-era president, FW de Klerk.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared this period as a time of mourning.

De Klerk passed away from cancer last week at the age of 85.

His cremation will take place on Sunday in a private ceremony.

Muvhango cast and crew have been given an ultimatum by the soapie creator Duma Ndlovu to vaccinate or lose their contracts. Ndlovu threw down the gauntlet to actors and technical staff during a meeting to discuss austerity measures to curb company costs in the new financial season and to minimize the spread of Covid-19.
