THE COMMODORE HOTEL, part of Legacy Hotels & Resorts and a Leading 4* Waterfront Hotel are recruiting for the position of Assistant Front Office Manager.

The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership skills through working as part of an effective team. They should display an exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to service excellence. Aiming to exceed customer expectations, and with the ability to work at a faster than average pace of work.

REQUIREMENTS:

Computer literate / Opera.
Excellent interpersonal skills / public relations skills required.
Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
Well-presented and well spoken.
As least three years’ experience in a 4* Hotel in a similar position.
Strong training and IR skills.
Able to work shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Grade 12 (Std. 10)
3 Year Hotel Management Diploma or equivalent qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with management and control of the Front Office Department to ensure the highest standard of performance and service is achieved.
Assist in leading the department in achieving high occupancies whilst maintaining high room rates, in order to produce the highest possible revenue for the Hotel, as well as control expenses of the department. Promote hotel services and facilities for up-selling opportunities.
Interacts with guests and patrons to the hotel on all levels, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction, optimum communication and maximizing return business.
Ensuring that Front Office policies and procedures are adhered to, including correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel’s credit policy.
Dealing with all guest queries regarding bookings, in house queries, payments and after departure services.
To make and manage reservations in the absence of the Reservations department and after hours.
Reconcile and maintain accuracy of financial procedures including department cashiering, floats, compilation of reports.
Ensures ongoing training is in place to enhance standards and development of staff.
Ensure Team Members have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties.
Schedules employee rosters to ensure the correct level of staffing per shift in line with operational requirements.
Brief your team on any events or VIP guests in the hotel that day.
Carry out shift handovers and brief team members as required as well as undertake Duty Manager Shifts.
Maintain close communication within the department and with other departments to ensure the smooth running of the operation on a day-to-day basis.
Ensure the Front Office Manager is fully aware of any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments. Assisting the Front Office Manager as required.
Undertakes to drive the Front Office Upselling & Walk-in Conversion program
Participates in the Health & Safety Committee as well as the daily management of this in the Front office department.
