DA suspends Western Cape speaker amid fraud investigation

The DA in the Western Cape has suspended Provincial legislature speaker, Masizole Mnqasela.

The party says its acting on findings about allegations of irregularities, with regards to travel and entertainment claims.

Mnqasela was asked to provide reasons as to why he should not be suspended.

The DA says processes are underway and action will be taken against those found in the wrong.

Mnqasela is currently being investigated for fraud by the Hawks.

The DA says it will decide on further steps once the investigation is done.
