Mother kills herself after throwing a party, found hanging in the bedroom
A mom threw a big birthday party for her one-year-old baby girl yesterday. It was a great day and the family had a wonderful time celebrating the baby’s birthday.
They all went to sleep in a jolly mood.
But today the family from Chesterville, south of Durban, woke up to devastating news as the mum, Nontokozo Mazibuko, was found hanging in the bedroom.
It is alleged that the 32-year-old mum, who was staying with her boyfriend and his family, hanged herself and left a note written:”Impilo inzima kungcono ngiye ezulwini” (Life is hard it’s better that I go to heaven).
Nontokozo’s sister-in-law Ntombizethu Mazibuko (39) told Daily Sun they are still shocked following this incident.
She said they were told by her brother that he woke up to pee in the early hours of this morning to find Nontokozo hanging from the ceiling of the bedroom.
“My brother said he didn’t hear Nontokozo moving from the bed as they were sleeping next to each other. He just saw her hanging when he woke up. Now he is so devastated and he doesn’t want to talk about this,” she said.
She said the whole family is still shocked about this because they didn’t expect it.
“We treated her as our sister. We thought everything was fine. Even during the preparations for the party we all assisted her. We were looking forward to the birthday,” she said.
She said they didn’t notice that there was something bothering Nontokozo.
“Nontokozo moved in to stay with my brother in 2017. They had a baby together. They slept in a bedroom of the main house,” she said.
KZN cops spokeswoman Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed that Cato Manor police are investigating.
Gwala said the body of a woman was found hanging from the ceiling on Prince Bhekuzulu Road in Chesterville.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated,” said Gwala.
