Former regional chair faces criminal charges


The ANC’s former Newcastle regional chairperson Arthur Zwane is facing attempted murder charges.

It’s alleged he shot and injured a security guard in an argument over hand sanitizer before entering a shop.

The injured guard was rushed to the hospital.

Zwane appeared in court on Friday.

He’s also facing another attempted murder charge for allegedly pointing a firearm at COGTA MEC Sipho Hlomuka.
