Former Eskom managers arrested for fraud

Former managers from Eskom have been arrested, a spokesman for the Hawks said on Thursday. The people had been arrested for alleged fraud and corruption amounting to some R745-million.

Two former managers, two business director, and seven companies are expected to appear in court for alleged fraud, corruption and money-laundering on Thursday.

The managers were arrested following investigations pointing to manipulation of contractual agreements between contractors, Eskom employees, and third parties. An Eskom spokeswoman said she was not aware of the arrests.
