Former Bok Elton Jantjies gets 4-year suspension after positive drug test

Former Springbok flyhalf Elton Jantjies may have reached the end of his rugby career. Jantjies was slapped with a four-year ban from the sport for testing positive for the banned substance, Clenbuterol.

The test was carried out in June last year and he was first informed of the positive test in August. At the time, the 33-year-old Jantjies instructed his legal team to assist in determining the source of the prohibited substance.

Clenbuterol is regarded as a performance enhancer that increases airflow to the lungs and helps to burn off fat and increases lean muscle mass.
