Job desciption; Working with catering units on specifications and labelling and ensuring compliance of products including product quality assessment and quality improvement that products are made to the specified standards.Internal Food Safety Training as and when required (i.e. new starters across the SA business). Assisting in food safety emergency procedures such as product recall scenarios. Ensure that the company has a strong reputation in the industry for best in class product range.
Requirements; Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Computer Literate. General all round Administration experience; IT skills – Excel; Word and Microsoft Outlook. Understanding of aviation supply chain process is preferable. Experience of internal and external auditing in line with customer standards.
Demonstrated track record of working successfully across functions to
achieve shared goals
Proven ability to interact cross-functionally at all levels within the
organization are required
Qualification in HACCP Level 2/3 is preferable, Company to offer training
on this subject if not.
Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GHP (Good
Hygiene Practices)
Food defence or Aviation Security requirements knowledge is preferable
Good business communication skills. Please note ability / flexibility to travel between bases as and when required is necessary. The post holder will be required to travel locally and internationally and will need a valid driving license and car, together with a valid passport.
Responsibility; Document updates such as catering / food safety alerts, Food Safety SOP’s and Work Instructions to caterers. Assisting with policies, manuals and compliance and reporting this effectively to management. Creating product specifications as and when required. Annual Food safety audits at all bases currently including (Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town)Creating and maintaining an Instrument Calibration schedule and ensuring this is adhered to; Adhoc supplier audit support (Self-audit questionnaires or on-site audits). Verification exercises for Airlines (Temperature control processes, data logging and product abuse) reporting this competently to the airline. Supporting complaint handling (gathering evidence / investigating at relevant base). Change management activities (trialing new products and documenting any changes). Day to day support in answering food safety queries (Shelf life, storage, handling, etc.) including supplier and caterer queries. Apply Now
