Flight Operations Assistant wanted Asap: APPLY HERE

Vacancies exist for Flight Operations Assistant (Previous known as Flight Coordinator) at Safair Operations. The successful candidate is to commence responsibilities at a mutually agreed date, and will report to the Manager: Aircraft Movement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring they are aware of the status of all aircraft during their shift and to advise the Senior Flight Co-ordinator, Operations Support Manager and Head of Operations Support on any deviation from the planned route
In consultation with responsible persons from Operations Support will formulate alternative courses of action as deemed necessary to address aircraft delays due to weather or technical defects, diversions and other circumstances, in order to minimise disruptions of schedules and cost penalties for Safair and inconvenience to passengers and/or clients.
Advising relevant parties of any company related delays via SMS.
Manning of three direct telephone lines to ops desk.
Manning of VHF radios to ops desk.
Communication with all relevant staff, aircrew, engineering, management, etc.
Liaise with Flight Line (Maintenance) and arrange apron services (fuel, tug, etc.) as required.
Arrange and provide ground transport for flight crews to and from the aircraft.
Assist in the preparation and finalisation of arrangements in respect of additional scheduled flights, charter flights and flights of a training or maintenance nature.
Ensure the schedules in the Ops System (Wecoms) are up to date and current at all times
Ensure the returned Flight Folios are completed in accordance with the Safair Operations Manual
Flight Folder Preparation – Legacy and FlySafair
Dispatching of all Legacy crew for contract tours as well as return documentation of all crew from contract tours.
Managing Operations Safe contents and distribution as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Private Pilot’s License (Non-negotiable)
Commercial Pilots License will be an advantage
Restricted Radiotelephony License will be an advantage
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Experience in an airline and/or operations related environment.
Good communication skills (both oral and written) are essential, fluency in English.
Willing and able to work shifts (including weekends and public holidays).
