A shootout ensued this morning between police and suspects during an armed robbery at a post office at Ekuvukeni, near Ladysmith.
After police received a call for help, they were met with a hail of bullets. One suspect was fatally wounded.
Five others, believed to be between 30 and 45-years-old, have been arrested.
