Job Description
Purpose
The purpose of this position is the following:
Ensure compliance and meet deadlines regarding all local regulatory reporting
Assist in the following:
o Preparation of the public disclosure requirements and ICAAP
o Preparation of ALCO and governance meetings packs
Assist in technology enhancements in the regulatory reporting tool
Be part of the team to ensure a strong control environment
Key responsibilities of the Regulatory team
Ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met on time:
PA
® Daily prudential requirements, trading book capital calculations, LCR reporting, Fx NOP
® Submission of daily returns
® Monthly completion and submission of returns
® Quarterly, six-monthly and annual completion and submission of returns
JSE
® Daily monitoring of capital usage
® Monthly completion and submission of capital adequacy return
SAFEX
® Monthly completion and submission of capital adequacy return
Part of NBIA process
Attend meetings
Communicate regulatory requirements and impact
Ensure all products feeds are received
Systems upgraded
Regular checking of product files
Regular regression testing of in-house systems
Assist with the interpretation regarding new legislation
Strong control environment
Implementation of appropriate systems and procedures
Key Competencies
Self-starter – be able to work without constant supervision
Firm grasp of financial principles and accounting.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements (Banks Act, Basle III and IV, JSE rules and regulations) a strong advantage
Knowledge of multi-currency ledgers and cross border transactions an advantage.
Good communication skills
Good Ms Office skills
Attention to detail essential
Exposure to legislation an advantage
Project management skills an advantage
Strong mathematical skills an advantge
Educational/Qualifications/Experience
Minimum: B. Degree with strong academic results
Other relevant qualifications an advantage
