Fikile Mbalula says Jacob Zuma collaborating with ANC’s enemies while claiming to rescue the party

African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general Fikile Mbalula said that former party president Jacob Zuma was collaborating with the organization’s enemies while claiming to rescue the party.

Mbalula told journalists at a state of readiness briefing ahead of the ANC’s manifesto launch this weekend that if the ANC fails, Zuma must be held to account.

The governing party’s secretary-general also preached tolerance, cautioning against violence between the ANC and the uMkhonto weSizwe party supporters.

Zuma is the face of the MK Party as he lobbies against the very same ANC he once led for two terms.

Mbalula was speaking during a state of readiness briefing ahead of the ANC’s manifesto launch this weekend in Durban.

“Now he has strengthened the hand of our opponents, he has, and he doesn’t think like that, he doesn’t see it. When you say I want to rescue the ANC but I will do it with your opponents, including your enemies, to rescue it from what I believe has gone wrong in the ANC – it doesn’t work like that,” said Mbalula.
