Ethiopia Coffee’s Woldemanuel Getu gets four match suspension

Ethiopia Coffee’s Woldemanuel Getu topped the list of Ethiopia Premier League sanctions after he was suspended for four games following hearings. The Ethiopian Premier League Competition Leadership and Disciplinary Committee held a meeting on Monday , January 7, 2016 after examining the disciplinary reports submitted by referees and observers in the Ethiopian Premier League match(s) held in the 9th week.
One of the games held this week,Ethiopia Coffee played against Hawassa city, Ethiopian Buna’s Woldemanuel Getu was sent off for hitting an opposing player and the player was suspended for 4 games and fined 3 thousand birrs according to the disciplinary guidelines of the EFE.
A disciplinary decision was also made against six players including Getu. The others are Michael Nelson (Shashemene City), Frezer Kasa (Bahirdar City), Eyob Alemayehu (Hawasa City), Samson Tilahun (Wolkite City) and Medhanie Birhane (Hawasa City) who were red carded for committing a second yellow card offense.
They were banned for 1 game for the offense they committed as they were removed from the field of play. A few Clubs were also punished for various infractions, incurring various level of fines.
Five players from St. George by a decision passed at the club level; As five players from Hawassa city and six players from Ethiopia Coffee were carded for various offences, according to the EFE disciplinary guidelines, the clubs were ordered to pay a fine of 5 thousand birrs. In addition, Hambericho Durame was ordered to pay a fine of 5 thousand Birr according to the rules of the Premier League competition for their team leaders’ absence from the pre-match meeting
