The government’s faith in Eskom’s viability remains strong. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced R254bn in debt relief for the power utility.
He says the relief will help improve Eskom’s financial struggles but at the same time warned that the arrangement will be accompanied by strict conditions to safeguard public funds.
