KwaZulu-Natal: At 12H19 Saturday afternoon, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on Umhlanga Rocks Drive in Durban North.
Reports indicate that an elderly female driver lost control while trying to park, pressing the accelerator in the process. The vehicle climbed up the pavement, through the passage, then came to rest on a stairway.
When medics arrived on scene, both the driver and her elderly passenger had fortunately only sustained minor injuries.
On closer inspection of the car, a metal railing had penetrated through the lower portion of the windscreen, narrowly missing the driver.
Both occupants from the car, and a member of the public who was in the passage when the incident occurred, were assessed, however, declined ambulance transportation to the hospital.

KwaZulu-Natal: 08H52 Friday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the R103 in uMgungundlovu near Pietermaritzburg. Reports indicate that the driver of a truck transporting cinder-blocks lost control, resulting in a roll-over.
Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver, a 25-year-old adult male, had sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised by an advanced life support paramedic. Learn more
