Power outages frustrate Durban residents

Prolonged power outages have caused more frustrations for Durban residents.

Some communities have been without electricity for more than five days, but the problem has persisted since December.

Residents are now calling on the eThekwini Municipality to prioritize them, accusing the municipality of incompetence.

Local businesses are affected as well, as they have to make other means to continue.

The eThekwini municipality says the power outages are a result of cable theft, illegal connections, and rolling power cuts that have a negative impact on transformers.
