Driver Job Description

The successful candidate will be required to:

provide delivery of our bakery items to our customers on a daily basis, in a timely manner, following instructions as laid out in the daily delivery schedule
ensure proper handling and delivery of the above with high standards of customer care
to deliver supplies, assist with collections and drop off’s of stock and any other item’s and or tasks required by the company, the holding company and it’s subsidiaries
professionally and politely deal directly with all persons including but not limited to, existing and new clients and customers, as well as their customers, staff, suppliers etc.
represent our brand and brand of companies in the highest regard and must behave in such a manner to always hold our companies and their brands in the highest light

The position will require the candidate to:

– hold a valid RSA ID document, passport and/or working visa,

– have a valid RSA drivers license,

– have experience and good references for the same or similar positions

– present themselves in a neat and clean manner

– be able to speak good English

– be professional at all times

Functions and other duties:

Service vehicle maintenance management
Schedule annual vehicle examination for service vehicles with the Transportation Department and apply for the renewal for the vehicle license
Determine when and what kind of maintenance the vehicle needs, keep track of general maintenance schedules, especially car tire condition
Ensure sound running of the vehicles assigned and arrange minor repairs where necessary
Check oil and tires properly and keep the service vehicles in clean condition, both inside and outside at all times as the cleanliness of delivery vehicles represent our company and reflect directly onto the driver and company
Keep track of timely car registration renewals etc.
Maintain a logbook of each trip and delivery without exception on daily basis
Update monthly mileage records and complete the milage logbook in accordance with the company procedure
Ensure that the vehicle is checked daily and any damage is recorded and communicated to your direct manager immediately
