Purpose of this role:

Mainly to work in the service department, servicing all diving equipment i.e. Buoyancy Compensators. Assist with cylinder testing procedures, servicing of regulators .Filling of cylinders & also assisting clients in the shop, answering the phone

Issuing of quotes to customers.Booking in and checking out of customer gear

The client is willing to train the right person with all diving equipment & send the person on a basic diving course. So good opportunity for personal development.

Requirements

Technical qualifications would be beneficial

Technically minded & able to work with tools

Interested in the outdoors i.e. Diving, Hiking & Climbing

Good Customer Service

Administration Skills

Live in close proximity to Rondebosch

Basic Diving course beneficial

Responsibilities

Assist customers with the rental of gear and completing of forms

Attendance of staff training sessions for guidance and training

Stock control including stock take and orders

Answering of phones

Ensuring that any outstanding orders placed are completed and that the customers are contacted

Completing the sales as required (including invoicing, phoning of customers, sorting of equipment and the sending off of items to perspective customers

Servicing:

Servicing of Buoyancy Compensators

Assist with cylinder testing procedures

Writing up of certifications

DV Workshop – servicing of regulators

Check compressor oil and filter hours

Filling of cylinder

Checking and filling dive school and rental cylinders

Filling of oxygen cylinders

Booking in gear and assist customers with any inquiries which they may have with regards to their gear

Servicing of cylinder valves

Cleaning of oxygen cylinders and valves and any other gear which may need to be “Oxygen Clean”

Servicing of customers compressors

Correct maintenance of cylinders as well as making sure that no oxygen clean items become contaminated

Ensure that the workshop is always clean and that it is in a presentable and workable state so that no items may be displaced or damaged

Maintain a conscientiously high level of safety within the workshop. This includes your own safety with regards to the wearing of correct attire including shoes suitable to working in this environment (no slip-slops!)
