Distruction Boyz are not pleased with the comparison of gqom and amapiano.
Recently in an interview with TshishaLIVE, the duo defend the gqom genre of music, saying it’s not dead.
The singers aired their opinion of the comparison of the 2 genres of music and they both concluded that it’s unfair.
“Personally, we listen to all kinds of music. We listen to Afro-soul, Afro-pop, house and almost everything in between … so why would we ignore amapiano? The constant comparison really isn’t necessary because the two genres are very different, so in fact it isn’t a fair comparison,” they said.
