Health Minister Joe Phaahla has confirmed that officials implicated in the Digital Vibes report will be slapped with suspensions.
It’s a total of seven health officials, including already suspended director-general, Sandile Buthelezi.
This relates to the suspect Digital Vibes communications contract.
“By close of business today all affected officials would have been served with suspensions letters,” Phaahla said.
“Acting DG [Nicholas Crisp] has been working on this since yesterday [Wednesday]. Letters already prepared.
“Outstanding disciplinary investigations will then follow and communicate with the SIU for further briefing. So the number of suspended national health officials by end of today will be seven, DG Buthelezi has already been put on suspension.”
