Did Wayne Rooney make the best decision leaving DC United for Derby County?

Wayne Rooney remains one of Manchester United’s best players of all time and his record speaks volumes. Rooney left United on a free transfer to join Everton but this was after giving so many goals and service to the Red Devils.

From Everton Rooney went on to join Major League Soccer’s D.C United and after spending just over a year there was talk of Rooney leaving to come back to England. Despite being one of the highest-paid players at the club, Rooney chose to move back to England. He missed home it seemed.

Rooney then went on to join Derby County as player-coach and we wonder if this was the best decision for him and for the team. In his short stay at D.C. United, Wayne Rooney has scored 23 goals and 14 assists over the course of 43 game appearances. As the team’s leading scorer in 2018, he helped bring D.C. United to the MLS playoffs, and helped the team finish fourth in the Eastern Conference. You can bet Wayne Rooney was going to be a hit in the US and with mypromocode.us it would have been the best wager ever.

Since moving back to England, Rooney’s team finished 10th in the Championship with 64 points which were 10 points less than the year before. So we ask, was the move by Wayne Rooney to Derby County the right move for the team?

Some might argue that he is rebuilding the team or that the Covid-19 pandemic messed up the rhythm of the game but others just choose to see results and points. We look at the game differently, sports on us probably means taking a look at all the factors affecting the team like, Does he have a budget to work with to bring in players for next season?, Is the management supporting his decisions and will they give him more time to prove himself?

We hope he gets a chance to prove how good he still is and we hope he gets to pass on the knowledge of his goal-scoring tactics. A wrong move or not the man deserves another season to prove his worth. D.C United Fans probably know he made the wrong move leaving the MLS team, I mean he was one of their top scorers.
