Marking of the 2020 National Senior Certificate exam papers is ahead of schedule, according to the education department.

Basic Education Director-General Mathanzima Mweli visited 181 marking centres around the country to monitor the status of the marking process.

The DG said despite challenges like load-shedding, there was minimal impact on distribution. He stated the department is ahead of schedule by three to four days.

Mweli said 90 percent of the marking centres have closed and are now in the process of standardisation.
