The National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) reported 8,929 new COVID-19 cases.
The NICD has also reported 596 more COVID-19 related deaths, taking South Africa’s total COVID-19 death toll is at 67,676.
The overall positivity rate has dropped to 22 percent.
