There are 4,954 new COVID-19 cases that have been reported in South African in the last 24-hours.

The Health Department has reported five new deaths, two of these occurred in the past 24-48 hours.

The total number of fatalities is 100,360 to date.

Meanwhile, Health Minister, Joe Phaahla, says the country isn’t in the fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic just yet.

New COVID-19 infections have surged by a hundred-and-thirty-seven percent since last week.

There are also concerns that the floods in KwaZulu-Natal may cause an outbreak of water-borne diseases.
