Rhythm City – David Genaro returns for revenge

When the star left the show, it was indeed a huge blow for the viewers!

Rhythm City fans are in for a wild and action-packed month of May as veteran actor and villain David Genaro makes a return to the popular show. His return, however, has a twist as it’s only in the spirit. The David Genaro spirit uses Ziyanda as it’s host and plans to use her in his murderous plot.

David Genaro

Fans of the show will remember that David Genaro, played by Jamie Bartlett, left after 13 years on the show to pursue other avenues. Fans were left heartbroken when he, David Genaro, was shot in point-blank range by arch-rival Khumkani who was working in cahoots with Suffocate Ndlovu. The larger than life character left a gap in the soapie that was hard to fill. It would appear that the show’s producers have decided to bring David Genaro back albeit only in spirit and not physical form. Genaro’s return is set to surely boost viewership on the eTV production.

Twitter was obviously in the investigative mode as they tried to make sense of David Genaro’s return. “David Genaro was really the man he thought himself to be. The man is truly immortal”, one commenter remarked while another said even Covid-19 had nothing on Genaro.

“How does one even begin to describe David Genaro #RhythmCity” asked another Twitter user.

The month of May will see Ziyanda trying to grasp and control her mental sanity as she struggles to fend off David Genaro’s evil spiritual plots. To make matters worse, one of David Genaro’s enemies is Ziyanda’s brother in law, Khumkani. His return does not sit well with Ziyanda as it turns her life upside down and causes unbearable pain. Ziyanda even enlists the help of a sangoma to get rid of David Genaro’s spirit.

On the other hand, David Genaro’s onscreen daughter, Pearl, seems to embrace his spirit and finds comfort in its presence.

You can catch all the Rhythm City action and how David Genaro’s return will cause havoc every weekday on eTV at 1930hrs.
