Job Purpose
To manage application Databases and Application related infrastructure, Operating Systems and Application components to ensure system availability, performance, security, and configuration in accordance with best practices and business needs. This includes troubleshooting as well as backup and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Application and Database Management
Manage SQL Server databases
Manage Application related infrastructure
Configure and maintain database and application servers and processes
Monitor system’s health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time
Provide suggestions for solutions
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems as part of the support team
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
Teamwork
Ensure open communication channels with relevant stakeholders and implement change management interventions where necessary.
Promote an ‘Altron centric’ and ‘partnership approach’ to develop strong relationships with other working groups
Continuous skills transfer and Knowledge sharing
External Parties and Relationship Management
Manage the relationship with various stakeholders, service providers, and third parties and ensure all the services are delivered properly, evaluate the performance and report any deviations.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Consulting experience is an advantage
Professional Qualifications
Microsoft Certification
Years of Experience
5+ years of DBA experience in a Production environment
General Server infrastructure skills / Operating system / Network / Storage basics
Cloud Experience is advantageous
Application Server / Integration experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in high paced production support in a complex and transforming environment
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in support and troubleshooting
Proven track record in managing systems in the production environment
Proven project management capability
Proven change management capability, both process and people side of change
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
