
The first case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the Western Cape. The Health Department reported that a 36-year-old man has tested positive for the virus.
He travelled to multiple countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Turkey. The man returned to South Africa on 9 March.
#COVID19 UPDATE: 6 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed. This takes the total number of coronavirus positive patients in South Africa to 13.

Western Cape premier Alan Winde and Provincial Minister of Health, Nomafrench Mbombo, will brief the media on the province’s preparedness to deal with COVID-19.
