Coming up on Imbewu: The Seed this April 2020: MaNdlovu forces MaZulu to phone KaMadonsela to invite her and Phakade to Nkululeko’s birthday dinner. Zithulele is stung that Ngcolosi is having a birthday dinner for Nkululeko whilst he is being sued by Maluju. Thokozile manipulates Ngcolosi, and he brings her home, much to MaNdlovu’s chagrin.

Zethu is rushed to the hospital. MaNdlovu becomes sick, and has a vision. The ancestors want a sacrifice of Ngcolosi and Nkululeko, and will use Phunyuka. MaNdlovu rushes against the clock to stop the vision from coming true.
Ngcolosi storms off to confront Phunyuka. Pastor Ndamase arrives home at night, his breath reeking of mints.

Zithulele is about to try and bribe Nokuzola. Pranav makes things difficult when he refuses to have Maluju pay for the legal proceedings against Shongololo Oils. MaZulu’s and Thokozile dynamic remains tetchy. Nkululeko tries to dissuade Thokozile from visiting him at work. Khanyo sets a trap for Pastor Ndamase.

Thokozile continues to awkwardly insert herself into Nkululeko’s life. Khanyo issues Pastor Ndamase with an ultimatum. Finally, Zithulele manufactures an excuse to see Nokuzola again, and despite her games, he finds himself increasingly drawn to her.

Pastor Ndamase gets ready to leave for rehab, but he disappears. Zithulele confides in Thu Sheleni and tells him he has met someone.
Shria shows Pranav a new tender they have to get. She is very put out when she finds out that Zithulele is also in the running for the tender. Shria is determined to stop Zithulele from winning the tender by any means necessary.

Phakade urges Khanyo to have faith and not to give up on her marriage. Phakade updates his will. KaMadonsela sees that MaZulu is written in as a beneficiary, and is furious. Nokuzola warns Zithulele that Shria is out for blood. Zithulele is increasingly enamored with Nokuzola.

Shria creates a scandal when she interrupts the tender announcement and accuses Shongololo Oils of unethical business practice. MaZulu‘s behaviour arouses suspicion from both Ngcolosi and MaNdlovu. Phunyuka is happy when the Bhengus offer to pay damages for Zethu, but his joy is short-lived.

MaNdlovu catches MaZulu entering the house after meeting with Phakade. Zithulele agrees to meet Nokuzola with his lawyer and offers to cook dinner for her. Thokozile feels she is losing her family and goes through a box of keepsakes. Zethu thinks Nkululeko was too hard on his mother.

When MaNdlovu hears MaZulu lying to Ngcolosi, she knows something is up. Shria begs Nokuzola to continue to represent her at the court case, and she agrees. Zithulele has cooked and arranged a special dinner for Nokuzola, and invites her under the pretenses of needing an urgent meeting with her.

MaNdlovu is scandalised by MaZulu looking for Ngcolosi’s will. Given his slim chances of winning the case, Zithulele’s lawyer suggests he settles out of court. Thokozile performs a strange ritual with hand-cream and mementos. MaNdlovu asks Nkululeko whether his mother encouraged him to marry Zethu.

MaNdlovu reprimands MaZulu for pushing Ngcolosi about his will and causing trouble. Shaken at Ngcolosi’s refusal to discuss his will, MaZulu reaches out to Phakade. What is meant to be a peaceful dinner for Nkululeko, Zethu and Thokozile, takes a turn when MaNdlovu arrives.

Nkululeko wonders whether MaNdlovu’s suspicions about Thokozile might be justified. Thokozile continues her mysterious ritual with the hand cream, and casts a spell on Ngcolosi.

In other news – South Africa’s lockdown restrictions could last months: report
South Africa’s 21-day lockdown period could be extended by between two and four months to manage the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak effectively, according to Rapport. The paper cited a report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), which said that infections in South Africa will only peak in the beginning of June.
The report said restrictions could realistically only be lifted somewhere between the end of June and the end of August. Countries which have been hardest hit, have extended their lockdown periods. Read more
