It’s all a dream come true: Terry Pheto

Every country has some kings and queens positively representing the nation that they come from at other countries, and amongst South Africa’s many loved celebrities abroad, we have our very own Terry Pheto who remains in a league of her own as she polishes her global brand straight outta Mzansi.

Born and raised in Sebokeng, the award-winning actress gained much success after her leading role as Miriam in 2005’s Oscar-winning feature film Tsotsi.

And over the years Terry has starred and produced several films and drama series including the Bold and Beautiful, Isibaya, Zone 14 and Madiba as Winnie Madikizela Mandela.

Her international films include A United Kingdom and Faces which was debuted at Durban Film Festival earlier this year.

Besides being our own ambassador, Terry is also the Longines brand ambassador who amongst many other career highlights has been the face of L’Oreal following the footsteps of Halle Berry, Beyonce Knowles and other famous celebrities.

Born on May 11, 1981, the hardworking actress has received several accolades for portraying different roles with the utmost brilliance including Best Actress Award for her role in a United Kingdom at the International Achievement Awards as well as the Black Reel Award nomination alongside big names like Oprah.

Through rubbing shoulders with some international film greats like Idris Elba and David Oyelowo, Terry’s prowess as the leading lady of a film in Africa continues being sharpened by some of the best names in the game.

The strong and determined role she portrays in most of her films is not farfetched from her personal beliefs hence the reason why it has been easy for Terry Pheto to leave her mark in any role film directors throw her way.

She is a strong and ambitious character who has successfully branched out of just acting to being a businesswoman who co-owns Lets Learn Toys, an educational toys company to prepare children for leadership as well as owning a production company, Leading Lady Productions.
