Chris Hani killer denied parole

Justice Minister Ronald Lamola on Monday announced his decision on the parole reconsideration for Janusz Walus who killed anti-apartheid activist Chris Hani.
The court set aside former Justice Minister Michael Masutha’s decision to refuse Walus’ parole in September 2018.
Walus was again denied parole.
Lamola said aggravating circumstances included that Walus committed a “cold-blooded, premeditated murder at close range” executed with intent to cause chaos and mayhem in the country.
