Overview
We are looking for a Charge Sister for one of our Private Day Hospitals in Midrand. The charge sister will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage nursing hours / acuities and skill mix in such a way as to ensure cost effective, safe quality nursing care: permanent and temp nursing staff
Investigate all negative clinical incidents and ensure appropriate capturing on IMS and reporting to National Nursing
Ensure unit is providing safe, cost effective quality patient care in line with clinical governance strategy and evidence based practice
Evaluation of nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
Effective communication with patients regarding their care
Ensure effective and formal communication: Charge Sister to attend doctor’s meetings
Identify, train and retain nursing staff
Orientation and sign off competencies of new nursing staff, temp staff and nursing documents
Benefits:
Salary on offer for this position is between R30k total gross per month
Applicants for this position must:
A relevant nursing qualification (Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree)
Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
2 or more years managerial experience in a private hospital / clinic setting
Must have Clinical Trial Experience (CRN)
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience
Ability to work under pressure and to maintain effectiveness during changing conditions. Apply Now
