A total of 942 wanted suspects have been arrested during Gauteng’s Okae Molao crackdown.
The recent escalation of violent crimes in areas like New Canada in Orlando prompted the police to step up operations in Soweto.
Recently, two people were shot and killed at a tavern in New Canada.
This led to an outcry by the community.
Gauteng police commissioner Elias Mawela led the operation in Soweto where roadblocks were set up.
