Plans to improve service delivery for Cape Flats

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says the city is making strides in improving critical infrastructure.

For the 2023/2024 financial year, 74% of the R11-billion infrastructure budget will be directed to advance development in some Cape Flats communities.

Hill-Lewis says the investment will create jobs and boost economic growth.

Residents are unhappy with the current living arrangements and accuse the city of providing limited basic services.

During his council address last week, Hill-Lewis announced that the City had broken its all-time infrastructure spending record.

He says 74 percent of the R11-billio infrastructure budget will be directed to Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain.

Hill-Lewis says the investment will create jobs and boost economic growth.
