Call it two for two. Lupita Nyong’o captivated yesterday in Dior Haute Couture’s feathery frock at the Sorry Angel premiere, and earlier tonight she did it again in a fluttering Prada number. Nyong’o stepped out in the shimmering, organza evening dress whose silhouette recalled the iconic grasshopper green Gucci dress the actress sported on the Cannes red carpet in 2015.
Unlike the long-sleeved piece she previously wore though, this ensemble could have been plucked out of the Disney princess playbook of red carpet style.
Nyong’o often has fun with fashion—take the Fred Leighton tiara she wore to the Oscars (she won) in March 2014 or the armor-like Atelier Versace she donned for the Los Angeles premiere of Black Panther in January—and tonight’s look exemplified her playful approach to personal style.
The delicate spaghetti straps were a nice counterpoint to the grandeur of the dress, while oversize hoop earrings finished the look with throwback polish.
