Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

CA Accounting qualification with 2-4 years experience (preferably a Big 4 classical external audit qualification)
Sound accounting knowledge and experience (Minimum articles or 5 years commercial experience, some accountancy practice, audit experience…)
Knowledge of IFRS and implication on construction contracts (IAS11)
Experience in Controlling activities (e.g. Calculation of recovery rates, Cost Centre accounting, Cash Flow Management)
Experience in Management accounting and analysis
Understanding of accounting and reporting systems
Principles of Internal Controls
Sound IT tools practise
Integrity, Communication, Active team player, Rigorous, Deadline driven, Transparent, Business Partner, pro-active, process driven, result oriented
Ability to influence, nurture & develop, but ability to be critical. People management skills in selecting, hiring and managing people

The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:

Management Reporting
Ensure deadlines are achieved on time in full.
Ensure comprehensive analysis and control of business results monthly, comparison to Budget and previous Forecast for revenues, Margin and Free Cash-flow reported through Teranga or any other Business Reporting tool
Ensure Units financial data are challenged, managed and compliant with ALSTOM RAM.
Ensure accurate and reliable financial information and report the same in a clear understandable way to the management and partners
Ensure Inter group positions are reconciled between Reporting Units
Preparation of report formats for Businesses with Sector

Planning and Budgeting:

Actively contribute with analyses and data input during the annual Budget and 3-year plan exercise and all Forecasts as required
Financial Processes & Systems:
Seek for constant process improvements and harmonisation within and outside the finance function, define new processes and issue guidelines, directives or Work Instructions if necessary
Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of finance related Sector or Corporate processes and initiatives
Participate in Sector reporting initiatives and tools development
Review and report Risks and Opportunities on Key Performance Indicator’s in Business’s Forecast and Budgets
Cost control:
Review and control Cost centres and Overheads, ensure common treatment within the Business
Ensure correct cost centre allocations and recovery rates being regularly assessed
Review and control Tender cost, ensure not exceeding approved Budgets
Challenge the Business cost base and act as main driver in cost saving initiatives

Communication:
Network with Unit FDs and Controllers
Animate and develop the Controlling community within the Business
Support the Reporting Units in all financial aspects; act as mentor and rollout best practise experience. Ensure all required accounting and reporting information is accessible and communicated to the Reporting Units
