Junior Environmental Officer wanted: Salary R14 000 to R16 000 per month

We seeking junior enviromental office who will be responsible for the environmental management system, interpreting and reporting on a daily basis

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with HSE Plan/ cEMP/ RoD/ HSE Management System, specific client/ project and other statutory requirements.
Ensure that the requirements of the cEMP is communicated and understood by personnel and contractors on site and enforced.
Waste, sanitation, domestic, storm and wastewater management.
Identifying and recording environmental impacts and aspects relating to the day-to-day construction activities.
Identify operational needs, design and implement relevant environmental interventions, keeping abreast with new research and best practices
Assist in the direct implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (cEMP).
Conduct inspections and audits and follow up corrective and preventative actions.
Conduct Environmental Risk Assessments and evaluate the Method Statements before the final approval by the Environmental Manager.
Develop and implement effective communication, training and awareness programmes
Support Health and Safety to ensure successful implementation and maintenance of the Integrated HSE Management System.
Monitor Calgro M3 and contractor’s environmental performance.
Provide environmental professional advice to Management and the construction team.
Maintain ISO14001 system and all required documentation.
Review of policies and procedures
Aspect Identification and compilation of impacts register and linking of legislation to aspects
Develop and implement objectives and targets o Incident Management

Qualification:

Grade 12
3 years Environmental Management / Science Qualification
ISO 14001 Auditor Course
PC Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
1 – 3 years’ experience in environmental management, monitoring, data analysis, report writing
Sound knowledge of H&S legislation, procedures, standards (SANS) and risk assessments.
Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Management Procedures and practices.
