The position became vacant due to a resignation

Type of appointment: External candidates who do not meet all the fit and proper requirements will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for a maximum period of six months. Internal candidates who do not meet the requirements will be appointed for a probation period of maximum six months. Progress will be monitored and if after six months the requirements are not met, the candidate’s service will be terminated.

PLEASE NOTE: The incumbent will render advice and must, therefore, comply with the requirements of the FAIS Act and related Board Notices. The successful candidate will be granted a maximum of six months to complete the following: RE5 exam; Class of Business Training (3 days’ training), Product Specific Training (3 days’ training) and accreditation as a broker (to be facilitated) prior to confirmation of appointment/permanent appointment

Specification:

Ensure that Medihelp’s member base grows with new business in accordance with set goals.

Manage an adviser portfolio by visiting and staying in contact with advisers, to make sure their needs are met.

Explore and develop new business opportunities.

Handle enquiries from advisers about new and existing members.

Present training sessions to prospective and existing advisers.

Give presentations to potential employer groups.

Ensure constant liaison with and motivation of advisers in the portfolio.

Plan and attend adviser events/functions in order to strengthen relationships.

Give feedback to management on sales statistics and other relevant information which impact on sales figures.

Liaise internally with other divisions regarding escalated enquiries received from brokers, and discuss processes and sharing of information.

Keep statistics on advisers, employers and union representatives.

Facilitate escalated enquiries received from advisers and provide feedback.

Requirements:

Grade 12.

FAIS compliant certificate with a minimum value of 120 credits.

Two years’ applicable experience in sales.

Honesty, integrity and good standing assessment in terms of FAIS. This will include a criminal and financial status verification.

The following additional fit and proper requirements must be met before a successful appointment in the position:

Successful completion of the RE5 exam;

Successful completion of Class of Business Training;

Successful completion of Product Specific Training; and

Accreditation as a broker in terms of the Medical Schemes Act.

Willingness to undergo a two-year supervision programme to give advice on health service benefits.

Knowledge of the following:

Medical Schemes Act;

FAIS legislation;

Scheme’s Rules and benefit options; and

Sales and marketing principles.

Computer literate in MS Office.

Must have a K53 driving licence.

Must possess the following skills:

Good verbal and written English communication skills as well as proficiency in understanding Afrikaans spoken and written communication;

Able to work independently;

Able to function well under pressure;

Good organising and planning skills;

Good interpersonal relations; and

Customer focus.
