Brackendowns SAPS have confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened after a fierce fire broke out in Dandelion Street in Brackenhurst, leaving one deceased and two dogs dead earlier on May 11.
Ekurhuleni Disaster Management Services responded to a call alerting them of a fire that broke out at the 10-roomed house, where a female in her late 50s and husband were trapped in.
Upon arrival, the fire services forcefully gained entry but unfortunately, the female was found unconscious and laying on the floor in her kitchen.
Her husband survived without any injuries as he is said to have been in a separate room.
The senior female was declared dead by Netcare paramedics after numerous attempts to resuscitate her.
Two dogs were also found dead on the scene and three survived.
