Blade Nzimande accuses DA of peddling falsehood against Ramaphosa’s SONA

Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande has accused the Democratic Alliance (DA) of peddling falsehood against President Cyril Ramaphosa’s 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA) last week.

Nzimande was one of the cabinet members who came out in defence of the president over criticism from the opposition benches regarding SONA.

This was during the last day of the debate on the President’s State of the Nation speech last week. Nzimande says most of the successes achieved in the DA-led province of Western Cape were the ANC initiatives.

“The DA is telling a false narrative here. All the things you claim you have done have been made possible by the advances made by the ANC. Where you fail you blame the ANC. I want to ask you a simple thing; if you are so committed to changing the lives of ordinary people, why are you not selecting poor students from the Western Cape to go and study medicine in Cuba,” says Nzimande.
