The National Prosecuting Authority has raised concerns about the timing of former president Jacob Zuma’s charges against Adv Billy Downer.
The former president has lodged a complaint of prosecutorial misconduct, against the State Prosecutor on Thursday.
He has also laid criminal charges against Downer.
Zuma claims Downer breached provisions of the NPA when he leaked medical information to a local publication journalist Karyn Maughan.
The NPA says while the law must be allowed to take its course, it has concerns around the context and timing of the accusations ahead of the pending High Court judgment against Zuma.
