Bheki Cele says police should fight fire with fire when under attack

Police are not trigger-happy individuals who just go after anyone. Those are the words of Police Minister Bheki Cele while visiting the Mariannhill Community on Thursday.

Nine out of eleven suspects, accused of terrorizing the community, were killed in a shootout with police in the community. A manhunt is still ongoing for two more suspects.

Cele, stands behind his men in blue and believes the investigation will vindicate their actions.

Speaking on the crime situation in Durban, Cele admits that police must work harder on crime prevention instead of reaction.
