Thando Thabethe claps back at ‘bad role model’ remarks
New year, new internet trolls shaming celebrities, but Thando Thabethe is having none of it!
The 5FM presenter was minding her own business on Instagram when one of her followers decided to comment on a picture she posted. Thando was wearing a bikini in the image that showed a little “underboob”.
This did not sit well with a fan named Nosipho.
“Times like this I wish IG had a dislike button. So many young girls like myself look up to you. If it was someone else I probably wouldn’t even care to comment but u a public figure, believe it or not your actions do [effect] young girls’ perceptions…,” she wrote.
Thando noticed the comment and swiftly sent the poor girl packing
“Fine another role model,” he replied.
Most of Thando’s fans agreed and told Nosipho unfollow if she did not like what the star posted.
“Some of us looked for role models within our families sisi,” one Instagram user wrote.
Another added: “Nothing wrong with this picture. What stops you from being a role model? Just learn to mind your own business and stop being judgmental.”
But not everyone shared the same opinion. Some applauded Nosipho for speaking her mind.
“I agree, unfortunately s-e-x in all forms is always trending. It’s how people become relevant or stay relevant,” one woman wrote.
Another added: “I agree 100% the forget the fact that they are role models to some young kids out there.
