There is absolutely nobody with immunity from the infamous Twitter drags. Yesterday celebrity influencers who participated in the #BabySoftQuilts campaign, were under a lot of criticism for their content. The Baby Soft campaign is conducted by Humanz, which is an app where influencers get to collaborate with different brands.
The leaked campaign’s brief said influencers must showcase the new Quilts range of toilet paper, which aims to celebrate “little moments of luxury”. Some of Mzansi’s favorite celebrities who were chosen to endorse the toilet paper brand including Mohale, Wiseman Zitha, Phindile Gwala, and Nomvelo Makhanya, left social media users giggling with their content.
Their content has been dubbed as “cringeworthy” and “irrelevant”, and Twitter users slammed their level of creativity and how irrelevant their content is. Although they were given other tasks to fulfill, which they executed well, however, Mohale was bashed for using toilet papers as a necklace, and displaying others on his Louis Vuitton luggage. Many poked fun at his content and asked where he was headed to with the toilet papers.
Some micro-influencers whose bids were rejected on the influencers app, slammed Humanz for using celebs to endorse this campaign. Many asked who approved their cringe-worthy content and whether that was not taken into consideration due to their huge following. Tweeps even went as far as creating a comic relief thread courtesy of Baby Soft on Twitter.
