PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide a value adding expert certification and operational management service to internal and external customers which exceeds the requirements of the SABS processes and contributes to the image and standing of the organization.
1. Prepare for audits according ISO/SANS requirements
Plan, schedule and conduct audits in line with client requirements
Participate in pre-audit meetings and / or complete audit preparation
2. Conduct audits according to the SABS / ISO certification standards
Conduct audits according to certification requirements
Present audit findings
Write and submit reports to clients
Take and deliver samples to SABS labs according to specifications (when required)
Conduct the on-site evaluation
Complete clearance on findings in the audit Report
Make recommendations for continuous improvement
3. Market and promote the Certification business to clients
Analyse customer satisfaction survey and take positive action to address any issues
Promote awareness of the SABS’ services and products offered by the SABS Commercial
Manage and control the accreditation status of the organization (within scope of control) so as to ensure that audits / inspections conducted for clients are valid and reliable
Ensure a thorough knowledge of SABS’ services and products (within scope of control)
Assist in the creation of opportunities to up sell and to create additional business for the organization
Communicate with clients in order to build and maintain relationships
4. Deliver excellent customer service
Provide excellent customer service by meeting and exceeding the client requirements as per their requests
Handle queries and resolve problems as they relate to standards
Resolve customer issues within the desired time frame
Follow up on customer queries, complaints etc. where necessary
Deliver beyond the client expectations
Act as a subject matter expert on issues related to sphere of control
5. Optimise own performance within the team
Participate as a productive team member by managing own performance in order to meet departmental objectives
Gather facts and information objectively with accuracy and attention to detail
Make logical decisions and use sound judgment in relation to tracking projects, tasks, assignments and reports
Plan, organize and coordinate relevant work duties as they relate to the department
Work independently with minimal supervision, set reasonable priorities and manage time and deadline driven workload
Contribute to diversity management initiatives and actively build business relationships
Maintain registration as an Auditor with the relevant auditing body, etc. SAATCA
6. Ensure that all administration and reporting is kept up to date (within scope of control)
Generate and submit accurate and timeous audit reports to the Approvals Board
Upload all reports and certificates to the document management system
Submit weekly, monthly MCS reports, car logs, time sheets and any other related documentation
Submit claims e.g. subsistence and travel timeously and accurately
Submit all reports (weekly, monthly quarterly) etc. within scope of control on time

Candidate Requirements
B Degree or National Diploma in electrical engineering or in a related field
• Knowledge of low voltage, appliances, electronics and electrical lighting processes etc. and the relevant statutory and regulatory requirements is advantageous
• Relevant I.T. Proficiency (MS Office, MS Excel, Internet etc.)
• 4 years’ relevant work experience in the electrical engineering industry is essential
• Exposure in either or all of the following industries are advantageous, namely: low and/or high voltage, appliances and electronics
• Management system work experience is preferred
• SAATCA registration as an auditor is advantageous
• Experience in an ISO 9001: 2015 company would be advantageous
• Valid driver’s license (willing to travel and reliable vehicle required) and passport
